Removing Carpet Stains

No matter how careful we are and how much we try and look after our carpet, unfortunately getting spills and other dirt on our carpet is inevitable at some point.   However this does not have to be a big problem.  What is important, is how quickly we get the stain removal process under way.  The faster we get cleaning the more likely it is that the stain can be totally removed and our carpet will look like new again.

Solution Dyed Nylon (SDN) carpets: While SDN carpets have excellent wear and anti-soiling properties, it is inevitable that you will get stains at some point. The important thing is to get to spillages and dirt as soon as possible to avoid them becoming a stain.  Spillages need to be soaked up by using a dabbing motion, then rinse with cold water.  DO NOT RUB.  You should get your carpet professionally cleaned by a qualified carpet cleaner if this does not work and it is also recommended that you do this as part of regular carpet maintenance.

Wool carpets: There are many cleaning solutions and products available for this job (we recommend Cavalier Bremworth Dry Stain Remover for wool carpets which can be purchased at Allfloors) but often the best solution is simple and you will already have the necessary product(s) required at home.  Click on the link below to see a list of cleaning methods and a handy guide for removing stains from Wool Carpets. *Please note these are only suggestions and cannot be guaranteed to work but hopefully they will make getting rid of that annoying stain a whole lot easier so you can relax in the knowledge that your carpet is stain-free again. If necessary have a professional steam clean by a qualified carpet cleaner.
